Carl Weathers: Early life

Born in New Orleans on January 14, 1948, Weathers exhibited his athleticism from a young age. His talent in football led him through Long Beach Poly High School, where he graduated in 1966. Furthering his education, he began his college football journey at Long Beach City College before making a mark at San Diego State University. As a defensive end, he played a pivotal role in the San Diego State Aztecs’ victory in the 1969 Pasadena Bowl.

Football Career Beyond College

Weathers didn’t stop after college. Despite going undrafted in the 1970 NFL Draft, he secured a spot with the Oakland Raiders in the National Football League (NFL). Later, he ventured into the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the BC Lions.
