We also have Zazie Beetz returning as Sophie Dumond, Arthur’s love interest from the first film. And that’s not all—Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, Steve Coogan, and Harry Lawtey will also grace the screen.
What is the story?
Hold on to your seats because “Joker: Folie à Deux” is bringing something entirely new to the table. Harley Quinn, played by Lady Gaga, is making her debut in this sequel, promising a fresh twist to the story. The story is set in Arkham Asylum, the hospital for mentally ill criminals that Arthur Fleck is sent to after the events of the first film. In the sequel, Arthur meets the young psychiatrist, Harleen Quinzel. As time passes, Dr. Quinzel becomes increasingly fascinated by her patient and forms a dangerous bond with him, eventually turning into Harley Quinn. The musical sequel follows Harley Quinn, the Arkham Asylum shrink who falls in love with her patient Arthur Fleck, aka Joker.
