storyline Overview
In Monkey Man, we follow the journey of a young man known simply as Kid, navigating the dangerous world of an underground fight club. According to the trailer, the protagonist is fueled by a quest for vengeance against corrupt leaders responsible for his mother’s death and the oppression of the less fortunate, Kid sets out to make things right. After years of pent-up anger, Kid embarks on a mission of vengeance against a group of corrupt leaders. The film is inspired by the legend of Hanuman, an icon embodying strength and courage. Night after night, Kid, wearing a gorilla mask, is beaten bloody by more popular fighters for cash. This narrative of struggle and revenge sets the stage for a thrilling journey through a world overrun by corporate greed and declining spiritual values.

Brahim Chab, renowned for his work with action legends like Jackie Chan and Scott Adkins, takes charge of the film’s fight choreography. With a track record including movies like “Dragon Blade,” “Ninja: Shadow of a Tear,” and “Big Brother,” Chab’s expertise promises heart-pounding action scenes.
Theatrical Release
Monkey Man was first announced by Dev Patel in 2018. Initially, Netflix secured the global rights for $30 million in 2021. However, following positive feedback from test audiences, Universal Pictures opted for a widespread theatrical release, amplifying the anticipation. Monkey Man is set to hit theaters across the United States on April 5, 2024.
